It’s so good. But $4.29? It’s an egg, two slices of bacon, a slice of cheese and a croissant roll.

It costs more than a dozen cage-free eggs.

Eating this 3 mornings would be $13.

Carton of 12 eggs for $4, pack of 12-16 strips of bacon for $4, pack of 6 croissants for $3

Make 6 breakfast sandwiches with $2 and 6 eggs leftover… or double down on the eggs and cut the cheese.

It’s less than half price to do it yourself. Does it take some effort? Sure. But not a lot of time.

Let’s add a cup of coffee to the order – $2/day (for Pike Place, not your soy mocha latte – $5/day) to show how much more you could save.

With 3 trips in a week that’s another $6/week. Which buys a 1 lb bag of ground coffee. Which should last you a month. The $18 you save in the first month ($2 coffee 3x per week for 3 weeks) buys you a french press to make good coffee at home. Those drip machines are low quality taste.

The $30/month you save on breakfast sandwiches buys you a gym membership.

Now it won’t buy you time to go to the gym. But this might. Or this (unplug from sm).

Of course, if you’re working from Starbucks, the breakfast sandwich and a black coffee is a good way to start the day.

Just have it more than 30 minutes after you wake up since that’s when your cortisol is naturally spiking anyway.
