For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. — Sir Isaac Newton

There are always unintended consequences of government intervention. Look that up; it’s not pretty. Examples: war on drugs led to more drugs and broken families, war on poverty created more poverty, etc. The same will be true of gun control.

The trouble with criminals is they don’t follow the law. So, banning guns doesn’t take guns out of the hands of criminals, it only removes guns from law-abiding citizens, who could protect you from a criminal were the situation to arise.

If a criminal gets a gun (where there’s a will, there’s a way) and goes to a place he knows there will be nobody with a gun, it’s an easy spree— far more deaths than there would be if there were armed and trained people to protect that establishment.

Banning things has never worked in the history of humans.

Alcohol illegal = Bootleggers and Gangsters

Gambling illegal = Online and underground gambling

Abortion illegal = Unsafe abortions

Prostitution and cocaine are illegal today.

Are either of those things removed from society? No. In fact, making them illegal makes things worse: sex trafficking, kidnappings, drug wars, murderous kingpins. These could all be mitigated or removed by legalizing the market for those things.

Making something illegal doesn’t remove the market for that thing. It just forces that thing’s market into the black market — which is more dangerous for everyone.

If you push through a ban guns agenda, the world will be far more dangerous and you will have made many problems much worse.

Don’t do it.

If you want to address a real problem, focus on mental health, not gun control.

Suicides by gun outnumber homicides by gun 2 to 1. And, as I’ve written before, more people are killed by motor vehicles than guns, and reminder: 2/3 of gun deaths are suicides.

Let’s help people instead of trying to control everyone and everything.
